Team Hitman
My name is Jason Zuchara. Back in 1992, I proudly served as Airman Jason Zuchara, a Munitions System Specialist with the 5th Bomb Wing stationed at Minot Air Force Base. In the breakroom of our shop, there was a steel tip dart board , and we spent our free time playing darts before work, during breaks, and often after hours.
Over the years, I continued to enjoy soft tip darts mainly in North Dakota, venturing out occasionally to larger events. In 2018, I discovered that a childhood friend from Maine, Aaron Jalbert, was connected to a dart player in North Dakota who had been competing at a high level in the United States. We exchanged tips and tactics, and he shared practice routines with me.
In 2020, I took a trip to Portland, Maine, to attend the Port City Open, where Aaron graciously welcomed me and my ND dart buddy into his network of dart players. Some of them even helped keep score during my matches, making the experience even more enjoyable. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet talented players, which reignited my passion for steel tip darts. I even contemplated organizing some events in North Dakota, but with all my volunteer commitments while living in Stanley, ND, it never came to fruition.
Fast forward to 2024, Aaron qualified for the ADO Nationals at the Las Vegas Open. With a sudden change to my work schedule, I decided to buy a last-minute flight to Vegas. I got to Tuscany Suites just a little bit late of him snagging a second-place finish in the National Cricket Singles.
When I arrived at the Las Vegas Open, my main goal was to support my friend without any pressure to compete. However, I had brought my darts along with some conversion tips, and by the next day, I found myself signed up for the blind draw and participating in every event throughout the weekend. I truly enjoyed every moment, but what stood out most was the incredible sportsmanship and camaraderie among the players. These Players many of them had qualified through local competitions across the U.S. to earn a spot at this significant event, with some even qualifying for tournaments in Europe. A few European Professional dart players were there too, fueling my enthusiasm for steel tip darts even further.
With that newfound motivation, I decided it was time to take action. Thus, Hitman Promotions, LLC was born. This initiative is my way of organizing and showcasing the sport of steel tip darts. My dream is to host professional steel tip dart tournaments across North Dakota and the Midwest. I’ve already secured contracts for assembly and have twelve portable steel tip dart stations ready to go.
The vision for Hitman Promotions is to hold sanctioned tournaments in Minot, ND, as well as some local qualifiers which will give players an opportunity to win entry fees and hotel expenses for ADO National Championships.
